Lazaro Campos, former chief executive of Swift, has become chairman of OpenTrade, a London-based company that provides stablecoin yield infrastructure.

OpenTrade supplies the infrastructure that lets fintechs, exchanges, and digital wallets offer users dollar- and euro-denominated returns backed by real-world assets. According to the company’s website, OpenTrade manages the financial, legal, and operational aspects, while clients connect via API or on-chain vaults.

The company reports $300 million in total value locked, an increase from over $200 million in May 2026, and more than $1 billion in transaction volume over the past 12 months, up from $250 million reported in May.

In May 2026, OpenTrade raised $17 million in a funding round led by Mercury Fund and Notion Capital, with participation from a16z crypto, AlbionVC, and CMCC Global. The round brought total funds raised to $32 million.

Campos previously led Swift, the financial messaging network that connects more than 11,000 institutions. He has served on the Bank of England’s RTGS and CHAPS boards, the board of digital bank Starling, and chairs Payoneer Europe.

“I’ve spent most of my career on the infrastructure the world uses to move money,” Campos said.
